I had been working around this problem by booting up inside Boot Camp partition which allowed the USB connection and was not adversely affected by Missing Sync processes running on the Mac side. It never occurred to me that Missing Sync which I find very useful on the Mac side would have such a negative impact on the Windows side. Thank you so much for your expert advice.
